We are current, former, and future family caregivers. We seek to normalize the conversation about caring for our adult loved ones and the dying as we co-create new solutions to support those just beginning their caregiving journey.

Meet the Team

  • Michelle Miller

    Michelle is focused on New Caregiver’s mission, vision and goals. She was a caregiver to her dad who passed away in 2021 from Chronic Subdural Hematoma (CSDH) and is a caregiver to her mom who is living with Vascular Dementia. She has been a mindfulness practitioner for over a decade and recently completed End-of-Life Doula Training.

  • Victoria Shepherd

    Victoria is an expert with website design and optimization, content development across channels, and customer relationship development. She is a caregiver to her mum and was also a caregiver to her father who battled Ankylosis Spondylitis, a rare condition that affects 0.1 to 1.4% of the global population. He passed away in late 2022.

  • Lisa Faraldo, Ph.D.

    Dr. Faraldo, founder and CEO of LifeSpan Health Services, is a licensed clinical psychologist with 14 years of experience in private clinical practice, academia and business settings. Her early career at Georgetown University, Washington DC and then at Nova Southeastern University, Florida (Doctorate of Philosophy) focused on research and treatment of serious emotional disorders. In 2009, Dr. Faraldo established a successful psychotherapy practice where she works within a clinical psychological setting and conducts research on the advancement of Alzheimer’s treatments, Parkinsons and Multiple Sclerosis. During the past fourteen years, Dr. Faraldo’s professional interests have focused on the area of caregiving and aging, with specialty training in neuropsychological studies as well as dialectical behavior therapy.

  • Hope Ann Cross

    Hope worked as a mental health counselor with adults and children in the city of Atlanta until leaving the field to become a full-time caregiver in 2011. For 9 years she cared and advocated for a person with ALS and learned skills needed for caring for someone with an advanced terminal illness. During this time Hope became an artist as a way to manage the demands of being sole provider of care, and found a connection to art as a form of therapy. In 2020 she moved to Blue Ridge, GA, and started her journey back into counseling.

  • Susi Rinaman

    Susi Rinaman

    Susi is the global lead of environmental health and safety for a fortune 500 company. She has 30 years of experience in emergency management, business, resiliency, and safety in private industry and government. She is committed to building resilient, caring organizations that put individual health and safety at the forefront of their goals, recognizing that people who feel valued and cared for are an organization’s greatest asset. Her entry into the caregiver world began with helping to care for her father in his final years of life.
